About the Library

MISSION: The Houghton Lake Public Library exists to provide informational, educational, recreational, and aesthetic resources to the residents of the Houghton Lake Community School District.

  • Hours: Monday-Thursday 10:00AM to 7:00PM.  Friday-Saturday 10:00AM to 5:00PM. Closed Sunday.

  • Open Door Policy:  Anyone, regardless of residency, may use the library at no charge.  Seasonal residents, tourists, and visitors may use the library’s resources.
  • To register at the library, adults need identification such as a driver’s license or state ID card with current address.  Children need a parent or legal guardian with them.
  • Multimedia Community Room available for use.  Available free of charge for use by non-profit organizations.  Includes an 84″ LCD touch screen display for presentations with seating up to 70.
  • Events:  Programs for all ages are open to the public and free of charge.
